There’s a saying that the natural companion to progress is nostalgia for the way things used to be.
Change is hard, and it’s natural to feel uncertain about it, and to get lost in wishing things would go back to the way they were. You can stay in that thought pattern and let it hold you back, or you can embrace change, find opportunity, and grow.
Some tips to help you process change:
🌿 _________Write down how you feel. Take some time to journal each day, even if it’s just a few minutes, and get those feelings off of your chest with no judgment.
🌿 _________ Ask yourself what do you really fear about the change. This will help you get to the root cause of any anxiety.
🌿 _________ Take a moment to savor the things you miss, and then counter that with possibilities for the future that you’re excited about.
🌿 _________ Reduce your overall stress by prioritizing self-care. Whenever I anticipate going through a difficult time, I always try to reduce other stressors in my life, at least during that difficult period.
🌿 _________ You don’t have to go through this alone. Reach out to a therapist, who can help work through it and embrace change with open arms.
