Deep breathe-the secret to getting a deep breath is to exhale as long as you can, then take a deep breath. Feel it expand your belly more than your chest. The reason deep breathing works to calm us is that getting more oxygen to your brain will help relax your whole body.
Exercise-walk fast, run, push-ups, sit-ups, punch a bag, dance-whatever gets you moving.
Laugh-read or watch something guaranteed to make you laugh.
Sing your favorite song- did you know you are breathing deep when you sing?
Write it down-don’t worry about making it legible or understandable to anyone else, just get it out. Type it into a Word doc or just scribble in a notebook. It doesn’t matter where or how you write, and you can keep it or throw it away afterwards, whatever you want to do with it.
